The Brain and Mental Health Consultation is the result of close collaboration between the HUG departments of psychiatry and clinical neuroscience, which was created at the Geneva Biotech Campus (CBT) on

November 1, 2024. Its objective is to offer complementary care to that offered at the HUG to neurological patients (patients suffering from head trauma) and psychiatric patients (psychosis spectrum disorders), in order to better define the diagnosis and develop new treatment strategies. Patients have access to specialized clinical follow-up thanks to a dedicated and multidisciplinary team, composed in particular of neuropsychologists, neurosurgeons and psychiatrists, without having to return to a hospital environment. Complete clinical care pathways, called end-to-end (from initial care to return home or to suitable structures) are established by the respective neurology, psychiatry and neurosurgery teams at the HUG in collaboration with the NeuroCentre, around the various neuronal pathologies. The brain and mental health consultation is part of the development of the patient journey and aims to create effective synergy between HUG clinical skills and the Campus Biotech research platform, in order to inspire treatments with new innovative tools from research. Indeed, at Campus Biotech, several teams are available to offer participation in translational research projects, in order to advance the understanding of cognitive and motivational disorders, and pave the way for new adapted treatment strategies. An additional advantage is the creation of clinical registers to better document and understand the targeted pathologies as well as the treatments applied, with quality standardized and anonymized data.

Job Description

As head physician or head of clinic, you are responsible for managing the outpatient follow-up of brain-injured patients, especially those with traumatic brain injury (TBI), in close collaboration with the teams already involved in the Brain and Mental Health Consultation of the Biotech Campus. An attractive environment awaits you, in which you can put your skills to the service of a motivated interdisciplinary team. You actively participate in the department's pre-graduate and post-graduate training programs. You will have access to structured and funded clinical research programs, as well as the opportunity to collaborate with experts on new neuromodulation methods. You are on duty as an executive doctor. The position allows flexibility in scheduling work schedules.

Qualifications

You have a federal medical diploma or recognized equivalent. You have a specialization in neurology or physical medicine and rehabilitation. You have experience in neurological/neurosurgical rehabilitation. You ideally have the right to practice in the canton of Geneva. You have the ability to work in a team.
