- As an internal doctor in orthopaedics, with activity dedicated to peri-operative medicine, you contribute to the overall management of patients hospitalized in the orthopaedic department.

Company and context
- The activity is organised mainly from Monday to Friday, according to the needs and organization of the service.
- Under the supervision of senior doctors, you ensure the daily medical follow-up of the patients entrusted to you.
- Your activity includes preoperative optimization, medical care during hospitalization and postoperative follow-up, as well as prevention, identification and treatment of perioperative complications.
- You take care of all the problems encountered on the floor, including analgia, the management of anticoagulant treatments, hydro-electrolytic disorders, common biological anomalies, acute or chronic comorbidities and the organization of the exit project.
- You coordinate these care with the teams of orthopaedics, anaesthesiology, nursing, physiotherapy and other specialists involved.
- You are involved in medical visits, interdisciplinary discussions, record keeping and continuous improvement in the quality and safety of care.
- You develop your clinical reasoning by being confronted or confronted with various, sometimes complex, peri-operative situations, while benefiting from proximity supervision.
- In an academic and multidisciplinary environment, you also participate in the supervision of intern doctors and have access to the theoretical and practical trainings offered by the services of general internal medicine and orthopaedics.
- As such, you continue your post-graduate training in accordance with FMH requirements.
- The year completed is recognized as a year of post-graduate orthopaedic training and can be taken into account in the course leading to the title of FMH specialist in general internal medicine.
