Who are we?

The Friburg detention facility (EDFR) brings together prison structures in the canton of Fribourg. It has a status under public law and has legal personality. It is administratively attached to the Directorate of Security, Justice and Sport (DSJS), under the high supervision of the Council of State. The institution shall ensure the custody, accommodation, care and treatment of prisoners entrusted to it and shall contribute to the achievement of the objectives assigned to the execution of custodial sentences and measures.

Your missions

• Provide medical care to inmates during their stay at the penitentiary
• Collaborate in an interdisciplinary medical team
• Ensuring high quality care
• Distribute daily tasks as day manager
• Advising and treating addicted patients
• Preparing and distributing medicines
• Accompanying students
• Provide telephone picket service

Profile desired

• Diplôme d'ASSC, Diplôme d'Infirmaire-ère en soins générales, level ES or HES, or equivalent training (with Red Cross recognition) with several years of professional experience
• Experience in prison settings, or specialized care – experience in care settings of vulnerable populations, highly desired
• Acute care and/or psychiatric skills
• Good physical and mental condition, as well as flexibility and stress resistance
• Ability to work in a sometimes difficult environment
• Meaning of human relations, communication and conflict management
• Have to intervene outside working hours for cases of force majeure
• Good knowledge of IT tools (MS Office)
• Excerpts from prosecutions and blank criminal records
• Mastery of the French or German language with good knowledge of the other language
