Role overview

We are seeking an experienced Tax Advisor to join our Private Banking Division.

The successful candidate will serve as the technical point of contact for private and commercial clients residing in Switzerland and beyond, working closely with client advisors and the Swiss pension specialist to provide integrated, high-level wealth management advice.

The ideal candidate possesses in-depth knowledge of Swiss taxation and a strong aptitude for direct client consulting (“face-to-face”), combining technical expertise with interpersonal skills.

Main responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Client Consulting: Support clients on tax matters related to investments, wealth and estate planning, and corporate issues;
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work within the Tax and Pension Advisory Team in synergy with the colleague dedicated to pension advisory services to meet clients’ needs and requests, while also supporting Relationship Managers in analyzing and developing the client portfolio;
  • Support operational services (PBBS) in managing and resolving issues related to Swiss and foreign tax certifications, liaising with the Federal Tax Administration (FTA) as needed;
  • Manage, analyze, and validate, in consultation with the PBBS and in accordance with respective areas of expertise, tax certificates, ensuring their accuracy and regulatory compliance;
  • Provide support to the Investment Strategy Team regarding the tax treatment of financial products, with particular focus on clients residing in Switzerland and, to a lesser extent, clients residing in markets relevant to the Bank;
  • External network management: coordinate with external law and tax firms to handle complex cases, estate planning matters, and asset protection, and to refer clients to external specialists when necessary.
  • Continuous professional development: constantly monitor developments in Swiss and international tax regulations, ensuring that the bank and colleagues remain up to date on relevant issues.
  • Operational autonomy: Manage requests and projects independently, ensuring a high standard of service and confidentiality.

  • Bank Support: Requests for initial support may be submitted as needed regarding Swiss tax matters related to the application of withholding tax, VAT, and transaction stamp tax (non-exhaustive list) for the Corporate Center (Finance) and Markets Back Office services.
