For our customer from the energy industry in Bern, we are looking for a:n experienced:n and open-minded:n software tester:in .

For a strategic transformation project in the energy trading environment, our customer is looking for an experienced personality in the field of software testing and quality assurance. The focus is on the introduction of a new time series management system, in which you make a significant contribution to the stability and quality of the new solution through structured test activities, data validations and quality assurance measures.

Your tasks

• Definition, documentation and implementation of test cases for functional and technical requirements
• Planning and conducting migration tests including rehearsal, cutover, rollback and hypercare scenarios
• Validation of data migrations using SQL queries, data analysis and source-to-target reconciliation
• Conducting tests in the environment of PostgreSQL, TimescaleDB and time series databases to ensure data consistency and system stability
• End-to-end testing of business processes across user interfaces, APIs, workflow engines and database layers
• Accompaniment of integration tests, go-live preparations and cutover activities in close cooperation with development, operations and specialist areas
• Analysis, documentation and tracking of defects as well as preparation of well-founded deviation and quality estimates
• Build and develop automated test cases for UI, API and backend components to support efficient regression testing
• Preparation of meaningful test documentation and preparation of acceptance recommendations

Your profile

• More than 5 years of practical experience in software testing and quality assurance of complex applications
• In-depth knowledge of test management, test design and the creation and implementation of structured test concepts
• Very good SQL knowledge as well as experience with PostgreSQL and database validations
• Experience with data migrations, data quality checks and integrity tests
• Knowledge of TimescaleDB, TigerData or comparable time series database systems is an advantage
• Experience testing complex workflow processes, APIs and data-driven applications
• Practice in the field of test automation for front-end, API and back-end tests
• Analytical, structured and independent working method with high quality awareness
• Experience in agile project environments as well as in cooperation with development, departments and operational teams is advantageous
• Strong communication skills in German and good knowledge of English
