University Hospital for Age Psychiatry and Psychotherapy
Aging psychiatry means combining medical excellence with foresight, humanity and scientific curiosity. At the Universitary Psychiatric Center (UPZ) Bern, as a senior physician or senior physician, you actively participate in age psychiatry – technically, structurally and in terms of content. You assume responsibility in clinical care, shape the further development of the offers and contribute your expertise in research, teaching and interdisciplinary cooperation. In a university environment with a high degree of flexibility, you make a sustainable contribution to the care of older people with psychiatric diseases and cognitive changes.
Their tasks
- You lead a medical age psychiatric ward (all clinical pictures) and actively participate in offers
- They treat patients integrated psychiatric-psychotherapeutic
- You will lead advanced training courses and fallup visions in the interprofessional team
- They lead and promote assistant doctors as well as the interprofessional team and participate in the clinical teaching of medical students
- They network and coordinate care with the adjacent psychiatric and somatic clinics and across sectors
- You support research projects and, if you are interested and have a corresponding profile, develop your own scientific projects as part of a doctorate or habilitation
Your profile
- You have a specialist qualification in psychiatry, ideally with a focus on old-age psychiatry, alternatively with a specialist qualification in neurology, general internal medicine or geriatrics with corresponding clinical experience in psychiatry during the training period
- You have completed a medical degree and are recognised in Switzerland, EU or EFTA (MEBEKO recognition)
- You are interested in neurocognitive disorders and age medicine
- They like to work interprofessionally, are flexible and enjoy teamwork
- You act on your own initiative, proactively and structured
- You master the German language in word and writing at level C2
