Portrait Bienne, the lakeside city, offers a position that will surprise you positively on the human and professional level!

The Centre's primary Francophone entity brings together schools at the Plaenke, the Prés Walker and the Marché Neuf sites. It has 22 classes from 1H to 8H, representing about 420 students supervised by 60 teachers.

As part of the incumbent's retirement, as of August 1, 2026, we are looking for a director/director for the Centre's school unit. The activity rate can be divided between two co-directions.

Tasks

The Director

• is responsible for the conduct and development of the entity in terms of pedagogy, human resources and organization in accordance with the training strategy of the City of Biel.
• ensure the proper functioning of the institution and respect for administrative and organisational processes.
• is responsible for maintaining and developing the quality of teaching and mentoring services provided by the teaching staff to pupils.
• supports the teaching staff in their teaching work.
• the school body.
• Ensures frank and adequate communication with all partners, including the School Department, continuous day schools, other school directorates, the authorities and the parents' council.

Profile required With an educational qualification recognised by the canton of Bern, you also receive or are ready to acquire certified training in the field of institutional management.

Proactive and self-sustaining, you have the capacity to develop a strategic vision and have strong experience in administrative management, human resources and organization.

With excellent listening and communication skills, you are happy to work with many partners. You are able to manage conflicts and have high stress resistance that allows you to manage emergencies and prioritize tasks.

As a French mother tongue, you communicate effectively in the other official language so that you can work closely with the German-speaking branches. In addition, you have good knowledge of the Bernese training system and administrative and political processes.
