As a member of the top management team, you and your team pull the commercial strings so that thousands of tons of consumer and industrial goods roll from the North Sea ports across Europe every day for our business customers. With your foresight, you shape our orientation as a reliable player in rail freight transport and ensure that we achieve our financial goals.

• Define and implement product and sales strategy, identify new market opportunities in European rail freight transport and use them for growth initiatives
• Overall responsibility for all sales activities (B2B) with an annual sales portfolio of approximately CHF 250 million.
• Building and maintaining relationships with key customers and new business partners
• Conduct complex commercial and contractual negotiations with corporate customers and partner companies at national and international level
• Ensure profitability of all products, including responsibility for contribution margins and billing of transport services
• Personnel and professional management of four teams with 15 employees in Switzerland
• Represented with shareholders on the Board of Directors of BLS Cargo AG

This is what you bring with you

• University degree, for example in business administration, logistics or a related field
• Several years of management experience in a position with full responsibility for sales and financial results
• In-depth knowledge of freight and logistics markets, especially in the relevant areas (NL, B, D, CH, F, I)
• Demonstrate success in B2B sales and business development in complex markets
• Experience and network with international customers in the European logistics market and ability to build trusting, long-term partnerships
• Negotiable in German and English, further language skills are an advantage
• Readiness for regular travel activities in Europe

About the BLS Cargo

We can't move mountains, of course. It doesn't matter. Because as experienced mountaineers: In rail freight transport, we see mountains as a challenge and not as an obstacle. We transport heavy goods from the North Sea through the Alps to the Mediterranean, and that is a tricky task. We master them in a team with our approximately 450 employees in Switzerland, Belgium, Germany and Italy. Our customers are international, our roots local.
