Independent laboratory management of the cell culture laboratory (including maintenance, cleaning, material management, orders, documentation, etc.)
Independently carry out microbiological and molecular biological diagnostics of highly pathogenic bacteria and viruses, including characterization using sequencing technologies (NGS).
Carry out cultural and molecular (detection) methods (e.g. inactivation, DNA/RNA isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, genotyping) of pathogens (viruses) in risk groups 1–4, participate in the maintenance of the reference collection and optimize it, organize and participate in national and international round robin trials
- Independent laboratory management of the cell culture laboratory (including maintenance, cleaning, material management, orders, documentation, etc.)
- Independently carry out microbiological and molecular biological diagnostics of highly pathogenic bacteria and viruses, including characterization using sequencing technologies (NGS).
Company and context
- Assist in the organization and maintenance of the BSL2, BSL3 and BSL4 laboratory infrastructure (including equipment).
- Participate in research projects (RG 1-4) and in laboratory training as well as in military refresher courses, membership in the operational team for biological events (B-EEVBS)
- Completed apprenticeship as a biology laboratory technician EFZ, HFP or HF qualification is an advantage
- Several years of professional experience in the areas of microbiology and molecular biology, experience in cultivation and working with (highly) pathogenic pathogens is an advantage
- Good knowledge of sterile work and a strong awareness of quality
- Experience working at least at biosafety level 2, biosafety level 3 an advantage
- Highly committed personality, responsible, high degree of independence, very safe way of working (biosecurity), organizational talent, high flexibility, ability to work in a team, careful and precise way of working, integrity, endurance and polyvalence
- Passive knowledge of a second official language and good knowledge of English
