Tasks

As an ICT System Engineer, you play a central role in the operation and further development of our data center, virtualization and server infrastructure.

• Operation, maintenance and further development of our virtualized server and workplace infrastructure
• Administration and engineering of VMware vSphere, Nutanix and Citrix environments
• Planning and implementation of infrastructure projects, migrations and lifecycle renewals
• Establishment, configuration and operation of Windows server systems and central platform services
• Analysis and resolution of complex 2nd and 3rd level disturbances
• Ensuring availability, performance, security and recoverability of systems
• Further development of our data center, storage, backup and network architecture
• Automation of recurring operational tasks, for example with PowerShell
• Preparation and maintenance of technical documentation, operating concepts and standards
• Collaboration with internal departments, external partners and manufacturers
• Technical cooperation in the strategic development of our hybrid ICT landscape

Classic end-user support is not the focus of this function. For complex questions, however, you support the support team with your in-depth technical know-how.

Requirements

You have in-depth experience in the engineering and operation of complex ICT infrastructures and want to take on technical responsibility.

• Completed training as a computer scientist: in EFZ platform development, systems engineering or a comparable further education
• Several years of professional experience as a system engineer, infrastructure engineer or data center engineer
• Very good knowledge in at least one virtualization platform, preferably:
• VMware vSphere and ESXi
• Nutanix AHV and Nutanix Cloud Platform
• Microsoft Hyper-V
• In-depth experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix ADC or similar platforms
• Very good knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and certificate services
• Experience with storage, backup, monitoring and disaster recovery solutions
• Good knowledge of network, firewall, VLAN, routing and VPN
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and hybrid identity environments is beneficial
• Knowledge of PowerShell or comparable scripting and automation technology
• Ability to analyze complex technical relationships and develop sustainable solutions
• Independent, structured and responsible working methods
• Enjoy building technical standards, questioning existing environments and implementing improvements
• Very good knowledge of German and good technical knowledge of English

Advantage Not all of the following knowledge is mandatory. However, experience in some of these areas is welcome:

• Nutanix Prism Central and Lifecycle Management
• VMware vCenter
• Citrix Provisioning Services or Machine Creation Services
• UNICON operating system and thin client infrastructures
• Veeam or comparable backup and recovery solutions
• Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and Azure
• ITIL-oriented operational processes
• Experience in healthcare or in environments with high demands on availability and data protection
