SECO’s Labour Directorate is part of the federal competence centre for all core questions of labour market policy and unemployment insurance. The labour market/unemployment insurance (ALV) is responsible for the Unemployment Insurance Act as compensation body of the ALV Fund. As part of the IT department, the Application Services Datawarehouse group contributes to the monthly production of the official labour market statistics of Switzerland, provides tools for the efficient and impact-oriented management and control of decentralised enforcement as well as leadership support tools for the compensation office and enforcement offices and is responsible for more than a dozen comprehensive data and analytics applications.

- Actively design the technical architecture and the further development of DevOps and platform services for the new Data & Analytics platform and ensure their stability, scalability and security.
- The DevOps toolchain and infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD and GitOps solutions are designed, standardized and continuously developed.
- Automate platform components and operational processes, optimize performance and operational security, and establish modern observability and security practices.
- Analyze complex technical issues, develop sustainable solutions and drive the introduction of new technologies and best practices for the platform.
- Lead DevOps Engineers professionally, advise other engineers and, together with infrastructure, architecture and security teams, ensure the continuous development of the Data & Analytics platform.
This makes them unique.
- Completed studies (HF/FH/University) in computer science, business informatics or a comparable discipline as well as several years of professional/management experience as a DevOps Engineer or Platform Engineer in an enterprise environment
- Certifications in Kubernetes, OpenShift, Cloud technologies, ITIL or HERMES are beneficial.
- In-depth experience in building and operating container-based platforms as well as in-depth knowledge in Kubernetes/OpenShift, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, GitOps and modern DevOps tools (e.g. Terraform, Helm, GitLab CI, ArgoCD).
- Experience in the design of scalable platform architectures as well as a strong understanding of automation, observability, security, networking and the operation of mission-critical platforms.
- High personal responsibility, pronounced analytical and conceptual skills as well as pleasure in helping to shape technical standards, solving complex questions and providing expert advice to interdisciplinary teams.
- Good active knowledge of two official languages as well as good knowledge of English in words and writing.
