- The Information Systems Directorate of EPFL (DSI) is responsible for implementing the digital strategy of EPFL.
- These missions include, in a combination of direct responsibilities and matrix responsibilities, the development and implementation of the EPFL IT strategy and master plan, the digitalisation of business processes, IT security, the management of central IT infrastructure, the management of core business applications, and coordination with the departments of the faculties.
- The "Information Systems for Academic Services" (ISAS) Service is at the heart of the value creation of the Information System of EPFL, EPFL and its evolutions.
Main responsibilities
- These missions include, in a combination of direct responsibilities and matrix responsibilities, the development and implementation of the EPFL IT strategy and master plan, the digitalisation of business processes, IT security, the management of central IT infrastructure, the management of core business applications, and coordination with the departments of the faculties.
- The "Information Systems for Academic Services" (ISAS) Service is at the heart of the value creation of the Information System of EPFL, EPFL and its evolutions.
- The teams collaborate with EPFL's trades to analyse needs, develop, enrich and consolidate IT solutions, while maintaining their stability.
- They also advise on the potential impact of solutions on business processes and propose process improvements based on standard market solutions or more rarely on the basis of specific solutions.
- As Head of IT Unit for Education & Head of the Academic migrating project for our ISAS-GIF unit, you are responsible for a team of people in charge of the computer tools for the management of studies and you ensure that they are adapted to the needs of student, departmental, and academic staff.
- Main tasks and responsibilities Main tasks and responsibilities, as Head of Unit:
- To supervise and animate the unit: to coordinate and manage the staff, to control the activities.
- To develop the know-how.
- To ensure the maintenance of the mapping and the alignment of the unit's skills to the needs and evolution of the IS.
- Plan the load plan of his team.
Application process
- You work in close collaboration with the whole of the Vice-President for Education and with third party partners for application.
- You are also responsible for the current migration project of EPFL's Academic ERP.
- As such, you have a strategic role in defining and implementing the IT strategy of the School in relation to the field of Education.
- In this field, you lead all the projects and services assigned to you, in all aspects: human and financial resources, quality, reporting and governance.
- With your team, with your colleagues, heads of units, heads of services, and especially with the Vice-Presidents concerned with the field, you are actively participating in the operational excellence of EPFL.
