Portrait Burgdorf - Educational city in the green Burgdorf with its more than 17'000 inhabitants is the lively center of the Emmental and an attractive educational city. The Education Directorate of the City of Burgdorf designs a future-oriented educational landscape and creates optimal conditions for children, young people and adults. It develops concepts, promotes innovative projects and ensures close networking between education, care, sport and child and youth promotion.

The education directorate includes elementary and day schools, early childhood education, sport, youth and leisure. A dedicated and competent team works together to ensure high-quality offers for the population. At the municipal elementary school, around 1,900 pupils are taught at five primary school locations, two high school centres and several kindergartens.

In the course of the retirement of the previous job owner, we are looking for 1. August 2027 or by agreement a committed, cooperative and leadership-strong personality as

Tasks

• They manage the school management, day school management and specialists professionally and personnel
• They advise the primary school commission, the municipal council and other political bodies on education and care issues
• They coordinate cooperation between the different areas of elementary school and maintain different networks
• They bear overall responsibility for the quality and further development of school and childcare services
• They actively shape the strategic orientation of the primary school and implement cantonal and municipal requirements effectively

Requirements

• University degree (bachelor or master) in pedagogy or a comparable field of study.
• In-depth knowledge of primary education and several years of professional experience in the field of education.
• Leadership training and several years of leadership experience in education.
• Strong leadership, communication and social skills as well as enjoyment of working with different stakeholders.
• Connected and strategic thinking as well as a solution-oriented and resilient personality.
• Safe handling of common digital work equipment and the willingness to actively shape digital developments in administration
