Portrait The Sunneschyn Steffisburg is a special elementary school with training and living places. The offer comprises 14 school classes from 1 to 10. School year, six lunch tables and a day school offer for external students, four boarding house groups, accompanied living and apprenticeships in various service areas. The Kohlenweiher is a regular school-related special school offer on the outskirts of Thun under the sponsorship of Sunneschyn Steffisburg. The Kohlenweiher supports young people in their orientation, promotes their development and strengthens their identity.

To complement our team, we are looking for one

Tasks

They work 90% (5 working days) in the all-day structure Kohlenweiher Thun. They accompany, advise and coach young people in the reference person system and are responsible for the case management.

• They work closely with the teachers, shape the lessons partly together or work in small groups and control interdisciplinary individual and group processes in cooperation with the team
• They assume responsibility for jointly defined content within the daily structure and design school and practical modules with the young people during the lessons and/or the non-school period (including socio-educational projects and outdoor assignments, excursions, experiential sequences, organisation of supplementary internships, lunch care and preparation and cooking of lunch).
• They are motivated to promote and support young people who are in difficult school and life situations in a close, differentiated and highly individualized way.

• The 90% are performed during 41 working weeks (39 school weeks, 2 weeks of preparation and follow-up during school holidays).

Requirements

You are a person with

• sound socio-pedagogical training
• independent, accurate and reliable working method
• A healthy assertiveness
• Experience – preferably in the area of behavioral abnormality and in dealing with ADHD and ASD
• Enjoying the differentiated and individualized promotion of young people who are in difficult school and life situations
• a structured, reflective and solution-focused working method
• Understanding and empathy for special development processes and systems
• Patience, trust and perseverance even during crisis phases
• the ability to focus on reliable and independent work, adhere to agreements and support the philosophy and values of the institution and implement them in everyday life
• Great team spirit. The interdisciplinary cooperation of different teams in different disciplines is a matter of course for you.
• humorous, creative and courageous thinking and acting
• Knowledge of and, if possible, experience in the primary school system of the Canton of Bern
• good IT user knowledge (Socialweb, Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Driving licence Cat. B
