At the Special Elementary School in Bern (BVS), children and young people between the ages of 4 and 18 with a cognitive impairment, on the autism spectrum or with another impairment are taught and supported according to remedial education principles.
Currently around 90 children and young people are taught in 15 classes. 12 classes are held in the school building at Statthalterstrasse 80, two classes at Tscharnerstrasse 10 (Eigerplatz) and one at the Burgunder external location.

- Responsibility for the methodological and didactic design of the lessons and the corresponding preparation and follow-up
Main responsibilities
- Teaching an upper school class of 6 to 7 students during the specified teaching time
- Responsibility for the methodological and didactic design of the lessons and the corresponding preparation and follow-up
- Close collaboration with the co-class teacher, an intern and class assistants
- Creating support diagnostics and goals for individual students
- Participation in interdisciplinary student meetings, parent work and parent evenings as well as other school events
- Aligning the learning content according to Curriculum 21 with individualized learning goals
- Possibility for team teaching in individual lessons Supportive and experienced class team
- Teaching days ideally Monday (all day), Tuesday (all day) and Wednesday (morning) Requirements
- Master of Arts in School Special Education or Clinical Special Education (or comparable training)
- Experience and enjoyment of working with young people with special needs
