Do you want to accompany scientific innovations on their way to practical application and help shape the contractual and economic framework conditions required for this? To strengthen our team, we fill a position as Technology Transfer Manager: in the area of Physical Sciences. About Unitectra Unitectra is the technology transfer office of the Universities of Basel, Bern and Zurich. Every year we evaluate around 150 inventions, apply for around 70 patents and negotiate over 1,000 research contracts and licenses with industry, spin-offs and academic partners. In this way, we make an important contribution to the translation of research results from universities into marketable products and services.
Tasks
They support researchers from the mentioned universities and associated institutions in the field of physical sciences in cooperation with industry and in the commercial implementation of their research results. The drafting and negotiation of contracts is an important part of your work. The work will include in particular:
- Drawing up, reviewing and negotiating research contracts with domestic and foreign partners
- Evaluation of inventions with regard to patentability and commercial potential
- Coordination of patent applications in cooperation with patent attorneys:
- Support for the transfer and economic exploitation of technologies
- Preparation of license agreements and conduct of negotiations until the conclusion of the contract
Profile
You have a university degree (at least master's degree) in the field of physical sciences, for example in physics, chemistry, materials sciences, electrical engineering or a related technical field. You have several years of professional experience in the private sector in a customer-oriented task. Now you want to take the next development step.
In addition, bring with you
- Enjoy communication and exchange with researchers, companies and other partners
- Interest in the pragmatic, solution-oriented design and negotiation of contracts
- Independent, initiative and structured working methods
- Ability to capture and communicate complex issues in an understandable way
- Negotiable German and English in word and writing
Initial experience with patents, licenses or research contracts is an advantage, but not a requirement.
