Summary of position
You will work with the team of the Vice-President for Innovation (VPI) at EPFL, which is dedicated, among other things, to the creation of start-ups.
Our mission is to provide a comprehensive suite of services and resources to equip EPFL Master's students, PhD students, post-docs and professors who want to launch tomorrow's companies.

Application process
- Our internal tools rely on a containerized infrastructure (Docker) hosted on an internal VM: a Supabase database (PostgreSQL) and a Next.js front-end application.
- Your role will be to consolidate and strengthen this infrastructure, enhance its security and consistency of data, and integrate new features based on artificial intelligence. Main tasks
- Backup system: design and implement an automated backup strategy (database, Docker volumes, configurations), with documented and tested restoration procedures.
- Test environment: set up a staging environment that replicates production, allowing to validate the evolutions before deployment.
- Security: Conduct an infrastructure security audit (VM, containers, access management, API, Row Level Security policies) and implement identified improvements.
- Data integrity: strengthen the database schema (table constraints, reference integrity, validations) to ensure data consistency.
- IA Features: Implement new artificial intelligence features within the application, building on EPFL's internal infrastructure (RCP cluster) and open source models.
- Documentation: Document infrastructure, operating procedures and technical choices to ensure the sustainability of the tools. Profile
