Full description

Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. While we work in science, there’s no magic formula to how we do it. Our greatest scientific solution is talented people working together, devising ideas that help businesses to help people. In exchange, we let our people own their careers. Their ideas, big and small, genuinely improve the world. And that’s the kind of work we want to be part of.

We are looking for a Senior Director, Program Integration and Scale up Lead to join our team!

The Program Integration & Scale-Up Lead is responsible for integrating and synchronizing the outputs of the Advanced Industry workstreams into coherent, scalable solution packages. The role maintains the integrated view of increment maturity, timing, dependencies and readiness, ensuring that individual workstreams progress in a coordinated way.

A key responsibility is to aggregate validated increments from pilots, lighthouses and workstreams into larger solution packages and the overall Advanced Industry blueprint, creating transparency on what is ready, what is still maturing and what can be deployed.

As a core member of the Advanced Industry Leadership Team, this role is critical to converting individual workstream outputs into an integrated, deployment-ready blueprint and ensuring that proven solutions are carried forward into future capacity investments and network expansion.

Key responsabilities

Integrated Planning & Increment Synchronization

  • Maintain the integrated plan across workstreams, pilots, lighthouses and increments
  • Synchronize increment development with the Genesis implementation timeline
  • Manage cross-workstream dependencies, sequencing and maturity gaps
  • Maintain transparency on critical paths, readiness and required decisions

Blueprint & Solution Aggregation

  • Aggregate validated increments into coherent solution packages and the manufacturing blueprint
  • Maintain a clear view of ready-to-deploy, conditional and developing increments
  • Ensure interfaces between manufacturing, technology, data, lab and facility solutions are aligned
  • Translate pilot and lighthouse learnings into reusable requirements and solution packages

Scale-Up & Deployment Readiness

  • Define and maintain deployment-readiness criteria for program increments
  • Ensure all ready-to-deploy increments are translated into project requirements
  • Ensure mature increments are embedded into upcoming capacity expansions, brownfield projects and new builds
  • Identify gaps between upcoming project needs and the maturity of available Advanced Industry solutions

Portfolio & Value Integration

  • Support prioritization of pilots, lighthouses and increments based on value, feasibility, scalability and timing
  • Aggregate increment-level outcomes into an integrated view of expected unit-cost impact
  • Partner with Finance & Value Realization to ensure benefits are consistently quantified
  • Support portfolio and investment decisions with an integrated view of readiness and value

Risk & Stakeholder Integration

  • Own the integrated view of cross-workstream risks and dependencies
  • Drive mitigation and escalation of integration, sequencing and readiness risks
  • Align Workstream Leads, Platforms, sites, Engineering and project teams around deployment requirements
  • Partner with Program Coordination on governance, reporting and follow-up

Key requirements

  • Bachelor or Master in Business Administration, Operations Management, Program / Project Management, or a related discipline
  • Highly experienced in Manufacturing & Business Transformation
  • Ability to maintain an integrated plan across workstreams, pilots and lighthouses, assess increment maturity, and manage sequencing, dependencies and readiness against implementation timelines
  • Ability to combine validated increments into coherent, reusable solution packages and an integrated Advanced Industry blueprint
  • Ability to convert proven solutions and deployment criteria into clear requirements for capacity expansions, brownfield projects and new builds
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, engineering delivery, operational excellence and GMP-regulated environments sufficient to connect solution design with site and project realities
  • Ability to identify and resolve interfaces, overlaps and constraints across manufacturing, technology, data, laboratory, facility and operating-model solutions.
  • Ability to assess increment value, feasibility, unit-cost impact and scalability and use these insights to support sequencing and deployment decisions
  • Demonstrated ability to create shared ownership, resolve competing perspectives and influence senior stakeholders across platforms, sites, projects and global functions without relying on direct authority
  • Ability to synthesize maturity, dependency, readiness, value and risk information into clear decisions, recommendations and escalations
