Main responsibilities

  • In this role, you will define innovative approaches to uncover the biological principles of vascular–parenchymal interaction in the context of kidney development, ultimately helping to establish a new class of human model systems through the following responsibilities:
  • Drive the development of vascularized iPSC-derived kidney organoids, with a focus on tissue specification and maturation
  • Develop and optimize engineered culture systems to enable vascular perfusion and promote kidney organoid maturation
  • Work closely with stem cell biologists to dissect nephron maturation and cell–cell communication
  • Translate biological insights into functional, predictive models relevant for human kidney safety Who You Are
  • A scientist with a PhD and a strong track record in iPSC-derived 3D tissue models or organoids.
  • To qualify for this early-career position, you must have completed your doctoral studies within the last three years prior to the start date.
  • Scientifically ambitious, with the ability to drive new concepts rather than follow established protocols
  • Experience in bioengineering and/or microfluidics is desirable
  • Ideally with a strong background in developmental biology, with expertise in kidney, vascular, or related organ systems Additional Information
