The Position As Lead Economist for Industrial Policy (m/f/d), you actively shape the economic, location and trade policy framework for all Roche’s business activities in Germany. In the External Affairs team at Roche Deutschland, you will provide the economic basis for our strategic arguments in a volatile environment. As part of the company’s political work, you create an innovation-friendly investment climate and make our social value contribution in the political space visible. You act as a valued:r partner:in for politics, business and associations.

This is what awaits you In this role, drive You will be responsible for developing strategic and operational evidence in the policy area of the industrial health industry.

• Evidence-based policy advice: You design and manage health and macroeconomic analyses and scientific studies on the Roche footprint in Germany.
• Strategic design: You anchor the industrial healthcare industry as a key industry in close coordination with the relevant public authorities in the federal and state governments.
• Internal support: You prepare association and committee meetings and support the management in top associations such as BDI, VCI and vfa.
• Agency management: You take over the professional and commercial management of external economic research institutes, including budget management.
• Network maintenance: You represent Roche interests in strategic committees and develop regional dialogue platforms and alliances.
• Market and environment: You analyse global market dynamics as well as legislative proposals and develop solutions to reduce bureaucracy.
• Cross-functional collaboration: You act as a business partner for internal functions such as pipeline strategy, communication and location management.

You bring that with you You are drawing With an agile product owner mindset, you can rigorously prioritize and use modern AI tools already intensively and profitably in your everyday life.

• Education: Successfully completed university studies in economics or a similar discipline; A PhD or an MBA are beneficial.
• Professional experience: Several years of in-depth experience in public affairs, government relations, economic institutes or strategic association work.
• Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of the healthcare system and industrial value chains
• Ideally created Economic analysis itself.
• Excellent knowledge of German and English as well as the ability to present complex regulatory and economic issues precisely at C-level and policy level.
• Collaborative strength: Strong team player spirit for networked work in cross-functional matrix structures.

The position can be filled at the location in Grenzach or in Berlin
