Tasks
- You will independently organize and lead archaeological investigations such as excavations, building investigations and prospections throughout the canton and in Augusta Raurica.
- You expose archaeological findings and finds, prepare them for documentation and prepare investigation documentation in accordance with the archive
- You hide professionally archaeological finds and samples and ensure the transfer to the collections
- You document findings graphically, photographically and in writing, create plans with GIS and CAD and also work with SfM, laser scanning and image processing programs.
- You carry out surveys with total station and GPS and ensure the proper recovery and initial detection of archaeological objects.
- You plan and set up the technical excavation infrastructure and share responsibility for safety and compliance with all regulations.
- You will take over the deputy or independent technical management of investigations in close consultation with the scientific project managers.
- You are actively involved in the public relations work of the Department of Archaeology and the public companies.
Requirements
- Since you mainly work outdoors, you bring a good physical and mental condition
- Existing excavation experience and an archaeological background are beneficial.
- A continuous further training in working and documentation techniques as well as in findings and found genres by visiting corresponding courses of the VATG and other providers are a matter of course for you.
