Main responsibilities
- The topic of the dissertation is:
- Fecal Microbiota Transplantation: A Novel Approach to Restoring Intestinal Normobiosis and Eliminating Resistant Bacteria Following Antibiotic Treatment The doctoral thesis primarily includes a clinical study in dogs and cats that develop intestinal dysbiosis as part of planned antibiotic therapy.
- It is being investigated whether this can be corrected by administering fecal microbiota transplants (FMTs).
- Other areas of responsibility include working in the new unit for microbiome and metabolome analysis (maintenance of the feces bank) as well as in the gastroenterology service.
- This includes taking anamnesis, clinical examination and creating problem lists as well as problem-oriented work-up (imaging including sample taking, endoscopy including biopsy taking) as well as the therapy of patients with gastroenterological diseases.
- Doctoral students work closely with senior physicians and are jointly responsible for the clinical process as well as the recruitment of study patients and sample collection.
- Requirements: You are a licensed veterinarian.
