Junior Finance Manager — Medartis

Full description

To strengthen our Finance Team in Basel, we are looking for a committed, process- and pay-affinity personality as Junior Finance Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for the financial accounting of different companies and contribute to correct, complete and timely financial reporting. You will accompany monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, work closely with internal departments, international companies and external partners and support the continuous optimization and digitalization of our finance processes.

Your remit

• Responsibility for the ongoing financial accounting of assigned companies including main and secondary accounts, investment accounting, provisions and demarcations.
• Preparation and support of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual accounts, and the conduct of accounting votes and plausibility checks.
• Support for operational accounting processes such as creditor and debitor accounting, payments, banks, cash registers, expense statements and payment systems.
• Preparation and processing of VAT invoices and support for further tax and financial reporting.
• Preparation of documents for audits and tax audits as well as cooperation with auditors, tax consultants and other external partners.
• Preparation of financial analyses, statistics and evaluations as well as support of internal departments and international companies in financial-related issues.
• Ensure high quality, completeness and traceability of financial data, as well as compliance with legal requirements, internal guidelines and relevant accounting standards.
• Actively working on the standardization, digitisation and automation of finance processes as well as continuous identification of potential improvements.

Your qualifications

• Completed commercial training with further training in finance and accounting or comparable qualifications; higher technical training in finance, accounting or business management is advantageous.
• Several years of experience in financial and accounting with practical experience in financial accounting and in monthly, quarterly and annual accounts.
• A well-founded understanding of financial accounting, financial statements and relevant accounting principles; experience in an international environment is beneficial.
• A well-defined analytical and numerical understanding as well as a structured, precise and reliable working method with a high level of quality awareness.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, especially Excel, as well as good SAP user knowledge or experience with a comparable ERP system.
• Proactive and solution-oriented personality with a high sense of responsibility and a joy in questioning and developing processes.
• Team- and service-oriented personality with good communication skills and joy in working with different internal and external stakeholders.
• Very good knowledge of German and English in word and writing; further language skills are of benefit.
