Tasks

• Food technology professionals process raw materials industrially into food and beverages.
• During your training, you will learn procedures such as separation, mixing, crushing, forming, heat treatment and cooling. You process raw materials according to given recipes and refine them with auxiliary and additives such as flavors, binders, colorants and vitamins. Furthermore, you control and monitor the processing and packaging plants. Strict safety and hygiene regulations apply to all work steps. Therefore, you control the quality of the products, take samples and harvest them in the laboratory. During the production process, you check the food in terms of quality, appearance, smell, taste and packaging.
• With a completed apprenticeship, many further education opportunities open up for you and both in Germany and abroad a broad field of activity in the food industry.

• Enjoyment of handling food and modern production facilities
• Good sense of smell and taste and careful working methods
• Readiness to start work early
