Tasks

With us you not only design software, but also bring your personality, actively develop the department and shape the e-commerce of tomorrow. Our sourcing and purchasing systems form a central basis for purchasing, product range and availability. As a hands-on team lead, you will become part of a cross-functional product team with product manager and four engineers. You share responsibility and develop scalable solutions for our procurement processes with Java and Spring Boot.

• You lead, coach and develop your team with a focus on personal responsibility, quality and continuous learning
• You’ll work hands-on, from the initial idea to architecture and solution design to productive operation, designing modular architectures and interfaces with approaches such as domain-driven design and self-contained systems.
• You bring curiosity, team spirit and willingness to learn and shape not only the implementation, but also architecture, quality and the question of what should be built at all.
• You work in variations of Scrum or Kanban. Engineers are also rolling up their sleeves in refinements and are actively involved in architecture and product issues.
• You expect a lot of creative leeway and the chance to shape the culture in the team and achieve impact even across team boundaries
• At the same time, there is enough legacy, complexity and grown structures to really make a difference with resilience and a clear view and make systems step by step better.

Requirements

We match when you

• at least five years of experience in software development and at least one year of experience in a professional or human leadership role, ideally in cross-functional product teams in e-commerce or similar domains
• have in-depth knowledge of Java and Spring Boot or a comparable language (e.g. C#, Kotlin), are ready to work in the Java environment, have experience with SQL and data modeling and releast regularly after "You build it, you own it" with CI/CD
• are familiar with modular software architecture, interface design and asynchronous data processing
• understand you as a Servant Leader, develop employees in a targeted manner and have effectively established concepts such as Psychological Safety, OKRs and an open feedback culture in practice
• Working closely with product managers, really understanding problems and thinking from a user and business perspective
• uses AI-supported software development (e.g. coding agents such as Claude Code) and wants to further develop in the team
• ideally have a good knowledge of German

We probably don't fit together so well if you

• Prefer frameworks such as SAFe or projects that start with a specification
• has worked mainly in highly regulated areas
• Without experience in a fast-paced, product-oriented environment with distributed systems
• Feel more comfortable with role models where infrastructure, backend, frontend, testing and product thinking are clearly separated
• takes over requirements formulated in the final form, instead of sharpening them together with product management and really understanding customers: inside
• Seeing further education above all as a responsibility of the employer and not continuing to learn for your own interest, be it "on the job", outside at an evening event or simply reading a book
• are more frustrated by imperfect systems than motivated - Spoiler: we are not there yet
• Work and good mood strictly separated from each other
