Role overview

  • guarantee the administrative, management and financial management of the External Relations Service
  • represent and promote, in accordance with the instructions of the Government, the interests of the Canton to the Confederation, the Federal Parliament, the intercantonal, cross-border and international institutions
  • represent the canton, on delegation of the Government, in working groups and Greeks on the internal, cross-border and international level dealing with topics of interest and cantonal competence
  • organize and ensure the follow-up of meetings between the cantonal government and the Ticino Congress to the federal rooms (DTI) and act as a means with it supporting it at a technical and strategic level where shared interests are manifested
  • to ensure the monitoring of the affairs of federal relevance for the Canton Ticino, identifying and ensuring the operational follow-up of federal enclosures of cantonal interest and to inform the State Council, respectively the cantonal administration on intentions and choices of federal policy and to advise on possible initiatives and measures to safeguard and promote the interests of the Canton
  • set up and edit the preparation of thematic dossiers and coordinate the preparation of federal parliamentary sessions and meetings of the Cantonal Government Conference
  • build a stable network of relations that is appropriate to carry out the task by treating contacts and relations with other cantons, actors in federal policy and with representatives of institutions and cross-border interest groups
  • propose and collaborate on the organization of meetings on issues and dossiers of a national and international/transfrontier nature of interest to the Canton and provide collaboration and advice for the organization of events and events useful for the promotion and enhancement of the canton
  • take care of cross-border relations by coordinating with the relevant cantonal services, with the Federal Authority and its Administration on issues relating to relations between Switzerland and Italy, also supporting public and private initiatives aimed at fostering, intensifying and consolidating the interests and presence of Ticino in the cross-border context
  • support and advice in the context of the crossborder bodies of which the canton is a member, in particular within the working community Regio Insubrica, according to the directives and delegations of the cantonal government

  • set up reports, reports and documentation required on specific areas and assist the State Chancellor in contacts, administrative and technical coordination and preparation of documentation and dossiers for the State Council
  • co-ordinate and secure government position management at federal consultations
  • organize and participate in work meetings with representatives of the cantonal and federal administration, with representatives of cantonal political authorities, with federal MPs and foreign diplomats, contributing to the good management of the protocol
  • assist the cantonal services competent in coordinating and managing the Interreg programme Requirements
  • complete academic training (bachelor and master or license)
