Main responsibilities

  • In this newly created function, you support the further development of the management, prioritization and coordination processes of Global Affairs.
  • They support department management in aligning mandates, projects and resources with the priorities set and ensuring their coordinated and effective implementation.
  • The function creates transparency about ongoing activities, supports prioritization decisions and ensures reliable working and implementation standards within the department. In particular, its tasks include:
  • Ensuring an overview of mandates, projects, interfaces and resource needs within the department
  • Preparation of the basis for decision-making on priorities, capacities and use of resources in close coordination with the management and deputy management of Global Affairs
  • Coordination of the project pool along the defined priorities and available capacities
  • Establishment, further development and anchoring of standards for planning, reporting, follow-up and project implementation
  • Co-responsibility for the management of selected operational and project-related areas, including line responsibility for defined part of the departmental structure
  • Co-responsibility for the further development of leadership routines, coordination mechanisms and resource management within Global Affairs

  • several years of professional experience in a function as Head of Operations / Staff Management, Operations Lead, in program management, in organizational development or in a comparable management-related support or control function
  • In-depth experience in portfolio overview, prioritization, resource management and coordination of several parallel worklines
  • Strong competences in project, process and implementation management, combined with the ability to introduce and sustainably anchor practical standards and routines
  • Experience in line design and safety in dealing with complexity, changing requirements and organizational change
  • a very good judgment and sense of timing, especially with regard to the question of which topics can be dealt with directly and where voting is required
  • very good knowledge of English and the ability to professionally interact with internal and external stakeholders at different levels
  • ideally experience in higher education, in the public sector or in similarly complex institutional contexts Personally, you convince with pragmatism, assertiveness, resilience and high reliability.
