Your Profiles

What do EFZ laboratory specialists do in chemistry? They support the development and optimization of chemical processes (synthesis subject area) and analyze them for quality and identity and improve analysis methods (analytics subject area).

How is the teaching structured? During the three apprenticeship years, laboratory learners learn their craft in 3 internal teaching laboratory courses (equivalent to intercompany courses) and in various analytical and synthetic laboratories. At the vocational school in Aarau, the subjects inorganic and organic chemistry, technical calculations, laboratory methodology and physical basics, biology, English, computer science, general education and sport are taught 11⁄2 days a week. The visit to the professional school during the apprenticeship is supported by the company.
