Role overview
In this role, you will design and optimize modern workplace services for Axpo’s nuclear energy computing with a focus on safety, automation and user experience.
As an ICT Senior Workplace Engineer, you take over the quality management responsibility for the AI Workplace environment – from technology to operation – and ensure reliable, stable and traceably controlled service delivery.
For the new nuclear energy informatics at the Leibstadt KKL, Beznau KKB and ZWILAG nuclear power plants, you provide workplace services that meet the high nuclear requirements for safety, compliance, availability and quality, use synergies with Axpo Group IT and ensure a consistent quality level on all devices.

- You operate and support the VMware Horizon Omnissa production environments and co-responsible Horizon platform upgrades for agents, pods and components with minimal impact on users.
Application process
- You also manage the operating system baselines and workplace application portfolio, including packaging, publishing, validation and rollback procedures for both VDI virtual endpoints and physical clients.
- You support the operation of the hardware infrastructure and make a significant contribution to the smooth operation of the entire ICT infrastructure.
- Interdisciplinary cooperation within the ICT infrastructure team with other specialists (e.g. network, virtualization, infrastructure, etc.)
- You coordinate and carry out in-depth analyses of performance issues, including error diagnosis and capacity planning in the workplace environment, and analyze and resolve resource conflicts in the areas of computing power, storage, storage, network and vGPU.
- You document system configurations and processes, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and maintain procedures, standards and knowledge articles so that the documentation is complete, consistent and auditable. Profile & Requirements
- Completed training and further education in computer science, or comparable technical training with many years of experience in the field of infrastructure hardware
- You have a completed higher education HF, FH or university in computer science or engineering - or an equivalent, proven practice in Enterprise Workplace Engineering.
- You also bring in-depth experience in workplace engineering for large environments.
