With your positive personality, your technological depth and your influence, you not only shape our technology landscape and engineering culture, but also actively shape the e-commerce of tomorrow. Together with seven dedicated, cross-functional product teams, you will work on scalable solutions in a complex distributed system.

• You can expect a lot of creative leeway and the opportunity to shape our technology landscape, cloud and enterprise architecture as well as our engineering culture.
• Together, as part of the technology leadership team, you shape the strategic direction and technical vision of the entire engineering organization.
• You have the authority to significantly influence technological decisions and the further development of our architecture. In this lateral leadership role, you create acceptance primarily through professional strength, personal connection and trust.
• Yes, we have enough legacy too. This is one part of the exciting challenge. You navigate through technical trade-offs, make pragmatic decisions and keep the can-do spirit alive in the team.
• We are a modern product organization and work closely with product management in agile working methods such as Scrum or Kanban.

You strongly identify with a culture where

• technically full-stack thinking, pair programming, whiteboard sessions, code reviews, automated testing and CI/CD with several productive releases per day are normal. Teams assume real end-to-end responsibility in the sense of “You build it, you run it”.

We are a good match if you

• Experience in domains such as purchasing, product data, logistics or ERP or have a general knowledge of business applications and e-commerce
• like to roll up your sleeves and tackle the most difficult problems yourself
• not only know the described engineering culture, but live, coach and anchor in the organization and raise our technical excellence to the next level with appreciative communication
• You are a great coach and a role model for the engineers. And sets technical standards for interfaces, observability, security and resilience
• Complex architectural challenges with endurance and resilience are addressed, simplified and perceived as a motivating lighthouse even in demanding situations.
• Translate design patterns pragmatically from theory to practice and move securely in distributed systems and different cloud environments
• brings a wealth of experience in dealing with legacy and migration strategies, for example in lift-and-shift, strangler or parallel run approaches
• Understand concepts such as DDD, SCS, Clean Architecture, Event Mesh, SOLID, Feature Flags or Dependency Injection as tools that you establish in a structured way in the organization and at the same time bring a solid understanding of distributed systems and DevOps practices
• See AI tools like GitHub Copilot or Claude Code as self-evident tools
• Agentic Coding Workflows actively involved and anchored in the engineering organization
• Establish a structured architecture review process
• at least 10 years of experience in modern software development and have already gained very solid experience in domain architecture
• Speaking German and English

We probably don’t fit together so well if you

• are an ivory tower architect and do not delve deep into the practice together with the teams
• Frameworks such as SAFe prefer or think in classic project structures and specifications
• has worked mainly in highly regulated environments and has little experience in fast, product-oriented organizations with large distributed systems
• Feel more comfortable in role models where infrastructure, backend, frontend, testing and product thinking are strictly separated
• Accept requirements rather than sharpen them together with product management and really understand customers
• do not have an infinite hunger for knowledge to constantly learn new things
• are more frustrated by imperfect systems than motivated. Spoiler: We are not yet at our destination
• Work and good mood strictly separated from each other
