PhD positions in Management at the Institute of Management and Organisation (IMO), Faculty of Economics at Università della Svizzera italiana Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) is a young and dynamic university, internationally oriented and committed to high-quality interdisciplinary education and research. The Institute of Management and Organization (IMO) hosts a diverse and methodologically pluralistic group of scholars whose research spans: • Economic Sociology • Entrepreneurship • Humanitarian Operations • Organization Theory • Strategy • Sustainability • System Dynamics The Institute invites applications for fully funded PhD positions in Management. The Ph.D. Position The successful candidate will join the Doctoral Programme in Management at USI from September 2026. The successful candidate will also be employed as a teaching and research assistant at the Institute of Management and Organization. Candidates' profile The ideal candidate has: • A master's degree in Management, Economics, Sociology, Operations, Finance, Psychology, or a closely related field • Excellent command of English (the official language of the PhD programme) • Strong motivation to conduct high-quality research • Clear interest in pursuing an academic career Admission to the PhD programme is highly competitive and based on academic background, research interests, potential for scholarly development, and overall fit with the programme. Contract terms The PhD position is fully funded for 5 years. Salary levels follow the standards set by the Swiss National Science Foundation for doctoral researchers. page 2/2 Given the structure of the programme, substantial additional professional activities are not compatible with successful completion.
