- We are now looking for a highly motivated Research Associate who will contribute to the development and application of human-relevant bioassays.
- The Research Associate will join our Ophthalmology Discovery Department located in Basel, Switzerland.
- This group has a robust early development portfolio in both retinal and anterior segment diseases and works closely with internal and external experts across many specialties. The opportunity:
- In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge ophthalmic research. Your main focus areas will include:
- Design, plan, and execute experiments; analyze data.
- Establish functional cellular assays, 2D and/or 3D cell culture systems for disease relevant models of ocular diseases.
- Perform cell engineering via nucleic acid-based modalities.
- state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques for in vitro and ex vivo analysis such as:

- protein analyses and tissues preparation (Western blot, ELISA, FACS, Luminex, immunohisto-/ cytochemistry)
- Develop, characterize, and apply advanced in vitro microphysiological systems such as spheroids, organoids, organ-on-chip, iPSC-derived cells.
